The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) is inviting residents across the state to share their vision for Alabama’s future transportation system by participating in the Statewide Transportation Plan (SWTP) survey, open Oct. 1–31, 2025.

The SWTP is Alabama’s guide to the development of transportation investments and priorities for the next 20 years. It covers highways, bridges, public transit, freight and rail, bicycle and pedestrian facilities, aviation and safety strategies. Public input is essential to help ALDOT prepare for the state’s growth, economic needs and evolving travel patterns.

The survey takes only a few minutes to complete and is available in English and Spanish. Participants will be asked about their priorities for improving safety, maintaining infrastructure, expanding mobility options and supporting economic development through transportation.

Residents without internet access may request a paper survey by calling (334) 242-6085 or emailing aldotstatewideplanning@dot.state.al.us. Completed paper surveys must be postmarked by Oct. 31, 2025.
