Public Input sought on proposed roundabouts at I-65 and West Lee Street in Chickasaw

Welcome to Chickasaw in Mobile County.
Roundabouts are proposed for Lee Street in Chickasaw at I-65 Exit 10
Oct 29

The City of Chickasaw, in cooperation with the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT), is proposing to construct roundabouts at the Interstate 65 (Exit 10) northbound and southbound ramps on West Lee Street.

The project aims to improve safety by eliminating sight issues at the ramp terminals and reducing the number of conflict points that have contributed to crashes in the interchange area.

To gather feedback from the public, ALDOT will hold an online and in-person public involvement meeting.

In-person meeting details:

  • Date: Tuesday, November 4, 2025
  • Time: 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Location: Chickasaw City Hall, 224 North Craft Highway, Chickasaw, AL 36611

The purpose of the meeting is to inform the public of the proposed design features and to gather input from those who travel through the area.

Additional details:

  • The meeting facilities are wheelchair accessible.
  • Anyone with a disability requiring special assistance should contact the ALDOT Southwest Region office at (251) 471-2000 at least five days before the meeting.
  • All comments regarding this project must be submitted on or before Wednesday, November 19, 2025.
