The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) will host an open-house public involvement meeting to discuss a potential intersection improvement project at US-280 and SR-22 (Lee Street) in Alexander City.

The proposed project would address the deterioration of the roadway at the intersection.

The work would involve rebuilding the junction with new concrete after removing damaged sections of the pavement.

Construction could begin by Fall 2026 and last up to nine months.

The public involvement meeting is scheduled for Thursday, January 29, 2026, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at ALDOT’s Alexander City Area office in the auditorium.

At this meeting, the public can ask questions and view project information and maps.

The Alexander City Area office is located at 240 US-280 in Alexander City, AL 35010.

The deadline for public comments about this project is on or before February 13, 2026.
