The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) will close the Old Brook Trail Bridge over Little Shades Creek in Mountain Brook next week.
Work to replace the bridge begins on Wednesday, February 18, weather permitting, and should last through at least August.
Residents living south of the bridge may access their homes from Dolly Ridge Road. All through traffic will be diverted to Caldwell Mill Road for the duration of the project.
Motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes through the area for the next six months.
Canterbury Road Bridge Rehab
In addition to the Old Brook Trail Bridge replacement, the same contractor will repair the Canterbury Road Bridge over Watkins Creek near Mountain Brook Village.
The bridge will remain open during this work, with temporary lane closures announced when necessary.
