An Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) resurfacing project on SR-87 in Coffee County begins Monday, March 30, weather permitting.
The project will take place on SR-87 from US-84 to Pea Creek in Elba.
This project includes shoulder widening and resurfacing.
Motorists should expect lane closures and reduced speed limits throughout the project. ALDOT urges drivers to plan accordingly and remain cautious around people and equipment in the work zone.
The approximately $1.2 million project was awarded to Wiregrass Construction Company, Inc., out of Dothan, who had the lowest bid that met the project requirements. The project is expected to be completed in Summer 2026.
Last year, ALDOT resurfaced SR-87 from the Pike County line to Pea Creek.
