The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) will shift traffic at US-80 and SR-126 in Pike Road into a roundabout configuration on Wednesday, April 1.

A continuous lane from I-85 north to SR-126 will be open for those traveling west on SR-126. US-80 east will no longer be a stop condition, but motorists will yield upon entering the roundabout.

Crews will still be working on the center island and preparing for final paving and permanent striping.

Watch our short “ALDOT Zero to 60” video for tips on navigating a roundabout and their safety benefits. You can find more information by visiting ALDOT News.

ALDOT urges drivers to adhere to the reduced speed limit and be mindful around people and equipment in the work zone.

The roundabout at US-80 and Marler Road opened on Wednesday, March 25. The contractor remains on schedule to complete the roundabout project this Spring.
