Road diet proposed
A road diet is a reduction in the number of lanes to a more efficient lane configuration. Road diets can improve safety and traffic flow.
ALDOT proposes to reconfigure a four-lane and five-lane segment of SR-227 from Sims Street to Signal Point Road. After resurfacing, the road will be restriped from two through lanes in each direction to one through lane in each direction and a two-way center left turn lane.
