Resurfacing of about 5.5 miles of SR-117 in DeKalb and Jackson counties will start Wednesday, Sept. 2, weather permitting.

Rogers Group, the contractor on the $1.7 million project, will mill and resurface the two-lane highway from SR-75 in Ider to SR-71 in Flat Rock.

Lane closures

ALDOT advises motorists to expect delays due to single-lane closures. A pilot car and/or flaggers will direct traffic through the work zone.

A subcontractor began installing signs for the project today.

ALDOT anticipates completion of the project this fall.
