An Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) resurfacing project on US-82 in Union Springs begins Monday, August 10, weather permitting.
The project will take place on US-82 from the beginning of the undivided four lane to the end of the divided four lane.
This project includes resurfacing and traffic striping.
Motorists should expect lane closures and reduced speed limits throughout the project. ALDOT urges drivers to plan accordingly and remain cautious around people and equipment in the work zone.
The $7.2 million project was awarded to Asphalt Contractors, Inc., out of Montgomery, who had the lowest bid that met project requirements. The project is expected to be completed in Spring 2027.
