An Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) maintenance project to replace two pipes on SR-605 in Rehobeth and Taylor begins Monday, Aug. 24, weather permitting.
This initial work begins a broader maintenance project along the corridor with additional pipe replacements on SR-605 scheduled later.
ALDOT remains in constant communication and coordination with the Town of Rehobeth, the City of Taylor, and the Houston County Board of Education as it prepares for temporary closures to safely perform the necessary replacements.
Trucks must use SR-109, US-231, and SR-52 during closures, and local traffic should seek alternate routes.
Once the entire maintenance project is complete, plans to resurface SR-605 can move forward.
ALDOT advises drivers to plan for potential delays. Please stay alert for workers and equipment throughout the work zone.
Schedule updates with specific closure locations will be posted to ALDOT News, ALDOT social media channels and through the Town of Rehobeth and City of Taylor.
