Beginning Wednesday, Oct. 28, a new traffic pattern will be in place at the intersection of SR-52 and CR-73 in Geneva County.
The intersection will temporarily become a three-way stop until a later date. This shift protects people working and driving in the work zone while construction continues.
To prepare for the new pattern, crews will pave the intersection on Tuesday, Oct. 27, and Wednesday, Oct. 28. The temporary three-way stop will be implemented by the end of the day Wednesday.
The traffic on SR-52 currently does not stop, while SR-73 traffic stops at the intersection. When this phase ends, traffic will shift onto the new eastbound lanes and SR-52 will resume free-flowing traffic.

Law enforcement officers will be on site during the initial transition to assist drivers with the new traffic pattern.
Drivers should exercise caution around people and equipment in the work zone and allow extra travel time as traffic adjusts to the new intersection.
This work is part of the Rebuild Alabama project to add lanes to SR-52 in Geneva County.
