The Alabama Department of Transportation plans to resurface, install guardrail and place new traffic striping on a portion of SR-233 in Marion County from the junction of SR-219 to the junction of US-278 to improve mobility and safety.
The 14.5-mile project is expected to begin Monday, September 16 and will continue until the end of the year, weather permitting. Flaggers and/or a pilot car will guide traffic through portions of the work zone.
S.T. Bunn Construction Company was awarded the project at $4.17 million.
Motorists should expect possible delays and are encouraged to observe work-zone speed limits.
