The Alabama Department of Transportation plans to resurface, install guardrail and place new traffic striping on a portion of I-20/59 from near the CR-20 underpass to near Exit 40 in Greene County to improve mobility and safety.
The 7.5-mile project is expected to begin and will continue until the end of the year, weather permitting. Flaggers and/or a pilot car will guide traffic through portions of the work zone.
S.T. Bunn Construction Company was awarded the project at $18.61 million.
Motorists should expect possible delays and are encouraged to observe work-zone speed limits.
