This week, the Alabama Department of Transportation began installation of traffic signals at the intersection on SR-51 at the I-85 exit and entrance ramps.

Lane closures are likely on SR-51 at I-85 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. while crews perform work.

Installation of the traffic signal is expected to take approximately three to four weeks, weather permitting.

Once crews complete installation, the signals will flash for seven days before becoming fully operational, per standard practice.

Motorists are advised to plan accordingly for delays and be mindful of equipment and people working in the work zone.
