An Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) resurfacing project on SR-605 in Houston County begins Monday, May 19, weather permitting.

The project will take place on SR-605 from US-231 near the state line to SR-109 in Rehobeth.

This project includes shoulder widening, resurfacing, and traffic striping.

Motorists should expect lane closures and reduced speed limits throughout the project. ALDOT urges drivers to plan accordingly and remain cautious around people and equipment in the work zone.

The approximately $3 million project was awarded to Wiregrass Construction Company, Inc., out of Dothan, Ala., who had the lowest bid that met the project requirements.  The project is expected to be completed early Fall 2025.
