Starting Tuesday, Sept. 23, the southbound rest area on I-85 in Macon County will be temporarily closed for maintenance and improvements. The northbound rest area will be temporarily closed starting Wednesday, Sept. 24.
During the closure, crews will resurface the parking lots and make minor repairs and paint the buildings, pavilions, and picnic tables.
These improvements are expected to be completed by the weekend. Both rest areas are scheduled to reopen on Sunday, Sept. 28, at 7 a.m.
