Visitors receive information about activities, museums, lodging and other services at the Alabama Welcome Center's annual Tourism Day.

Hundreds of travelers entering the state on I-59 found food and fun waiting for them Thursday at the Alabama Welcome Center in DeKalb County.

The annual Tourism Day drew about two dozen vendors eager to provide visitors with information about the many cultural and recreational activities the state has to offer.

The current structure at the I-65 South rest area in Greenville.

A contractor for the Alabama Department of Transportation will begin installing signs on Monday, April 29, for the closure, beginning May 1, of the I-65 South rest area in Greenville.

The current structure will be demolished, and an updated rest area will be built in the same location. The new structure will have additional stalls, urinals, and family restrooms.
