Westbound I-565 interchange with Town Madison Boulevard opens

The I-565 interchange with Town Madison Boulevard includes two bridges to carry westbound I-565 traffic over the interstate to and from the development to the south.

Five years later, a look back at the US-231 landslide

When a landslide destroyed US-231 in 2020, ALDOT's solution was to construct bridges across the unstable area. In this photo from July 2020, contractor Brasfield & Gorrie is constructing bridge columns and caps.

Five years ago today, ALDOT leaders met with concerned residents from several north Alabama counties to unveil an ambitious plan to repair US-231 after a landslide destroyed parts of the highway in Morgan County.

ALDOT to repair SR-127 Elk River relief bridge

The SR-127 Elk River bridge, which is just south of the relief bridge to be repaired by ALDOT maintenance forces next week in Limestone County.

ALDOT will repair the SR-127 Elk River relief bridge north of Elkmont in Limestone County next week.

Crews will remove and replace a section of concrete in the deck of the relief bridge just north of the Elk River bridge, near Leggtown Road.

Construction continues on US-72/Florence Boulevard in Lauderdale County.

As construction to widen US-72/Florence Boulevard in Lauderdale County continues, ALDOT advises motorists to expect nightly lane closures for about two weeks.

Resurfacing project on I-59 in Gadsden to start Sunday night

I-59 just south of SR-77 in Gadsden. Work will begin Sunday evening to resurface 8.5 miles of the corridor in Etowah County.

A major resurfacing project on I-59 in the Gadsden area will start the evening of Sunday, Feb. 23, weather permitting. ALDOT advises motorists to expect lane closures from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday through Thursday nights.
