Nighttime resurfacing of four miles of US-431 in Albertville will begin the evening of Sunday, June 14, weather permitting.

Rogers Group, the contractor on the $3 million project, will mill and pave the divided four-lane highway from south of SR-75 at Miller Street to Brashers Chapel Road.

Miller & Miller today installed bridge girders for the replacement of the northbound half of the US-43/US-72/Mitchell Boulevard bridge over SR-20 in Florence.

The six 137-foot girders — long, horizontal beams that will support the future bridge deck — each weigh 52.3 tons.

ALDOT will repair the deck of the northbound I-65 bridge, seen here behind the southbound bridge, over the CSX railroad beginning the evening of Tuesday, June 2. Northbound traffic will detour to US-31 at Exit 318 at Lacon.

ALDOT will close I-65 northbound at Exit 318 at Lacon in Morgan County for one night next week to repair the deck of the northbound bridge over the CSX railroad.

Weather permitting, ALDOT plans to close the northbound roadway about 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 2, and detour all northbound traffic to US-31.

A $4.7 million project to resurface more than eight miles of SR-24 in western Franklin County will begin late this week or early next week, weather permitting.

The crossover carries traffic back from the northbound I-59 roadway to the southbound roadway at the south end of the project, south of Stephens Gap Road in Etowah County.
