ALDOT brings official state Christmas tree from Fitzpatrick, Ala.

Each year, employees from the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) cut down, haul, install and help decorate the official state Christmas tree that sits at the top of the Capitol steps facing Dexter Avenue in Montgomery.

Traffic to detour for about a year for SR-243 bridge replacement

A project to demolish and replace the bridge on SR-243 over Little Bear Creek in franklin County will start in July.

Traffic will detour for about a year during replacement of the bridge on SR-243 over Cedar Creek in Franklin County.

The closure of SR-243 at the creek southeast of Russellville will begin Monday, July 7. ALDOT advises drivers to plan alternate routes in advance and prepare for longer travel times.

Upcoming phase shift on I-59 in Trussville
