CR-87 bridge southbound lane over I-65 remains closed for repairs

Following Tuesday morning’s bridge strike on CR-87 over I-65, the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) will keep the southbound lane of the CR-87 bridge closed.  Emergency repairs are necessary on the western half of the span over the coming weeks.

The US-82 and US-431 intersection relocation in Eufaula begins tomorrow, October 1.

The primary purpose of the project is to enhance safety along the corridor. Currently, US-82 intersects US-431 at a 45-degree angle; this project will reconfigure the intersection to a 90-degree angle. The new roadway will also feature wider shoulders, including two-foot paved shoulders.

Rogers Group resurfaced US-43 at the SR-24 interchange in Russellville earlier this year. Monday, the contractor will start resurfacing 5.5 miles of SR-24.

Resurfacing of SR-24 in the Russellville area of Franklin County will begin Monday, Sept. 29, weather permitting.

The $3 million project with contractor Rogers Group includes milling and resurfacing 5.5 miles of SR-24 from east of SR-243 in Russellville to CR-83.
