Crash fatalities decline in Alabama in 2024

Alabama saw a decline in traffic fatalities in 2024, according to the newly released Alabama Crash Facts report available online at the Drive Safe Alabama Website.

The report shows 967 motor vehicle fatalities statewide, down from 975 in 2023. Total crashes also fell, from just over 143,000 in 2023 to right above 140,000 in 2024....

In preparation for Winter Storm Cora, the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) is ramping up its preparation efforts in advance of the approaching cold airmass.
