CR-87 bridge southbound lane over I-65 remains closed for repairs

Following Tuesday morning’s bridge strike on CR-87 over I-65, the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) will keep the southbound lane of the CR-87 bridge closed.  Emergency repairs are necessary on the western half of the span over the coming weeks.

The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) plans to resurface a stretch of Skyland Boulevard (US-11) from SR-69 to Pleasant Hill Drive in Tuscaloosa.

Crews resurface the Chalkville Mountain Road southbound ramps off I-59.

Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) crews have reopened the southbound Chalkville Mountain Road (Exit 141) ramps off I-59 in Trussville.

ALDOT has worked to meet a goal to reopen the busy ramps by August 29 and finished three days early.

The contractor for an Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) resurfacing project began installing cable rail and making repairs to damaged guardrail on US-80 in Phenix City today.

Crews will be working on US-80 from US-280 to the Chattahoochee River Bridge. Work is expected to take approximately two to three weeks.

The Alabama Department of Transportation will have no temporary lane closures on interstate routes during the Labor Day holiday weekend. Closures will be suspended from Friday, August 29, at noon through Monday, Sept. 1, at 11:59 p.m.

A year after the removal of tolls on the Beach Express bridge, traffic counts show the change is continuing to ease congestion on SR-59 while directing more vehicles to the SR-161 Beach Express corridor.
