Sign installation began Wednesday, March 20, in preparation for an Alabama Department of Transportation resurfacing project on US-29 in Troy.
The project consists of planing and resurfacing US-29 from just north of the US-231 overpass to Needmore Road.
Construction begins shortly after all signs are installed.
Throughout the project, lane closures are possible. Travelers should plan accordingly for delays and be mindful of people and equipment in the work zone.
The $1.6 million project was awarded to APAC-Alabama, Inc., out of Birmingham, which had the lowest bid that met the project requirements. The project is expected to be completed by summer 2024.
