The new crossing is located about two miles east of the Martin Dam Hydroelectric Plant.

The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) has finished replacing the SR-50 bridge over Wind Creek in Tallapoosa County.  

The $3.4 million crossing upgrade began in mid-2024. 

It is located two miles east of the Martin Dam Hydroelectric Plant.  

The SR-50 bridge over Wind Creek carries about 1,400 vehicles daily.

Traffic began travelling on the new SR-79 bridge over the Blackburn Fork in April 2025.

The Alabama Department of Transportation’s (ALDOT) work to replace the SR-79 bridge over the Blackburn Fork of the Little Warrior River is nearing completion.

Contractor Miller & Miller poured concrete for the deck of the new bridge on SR-243 over Cedar Creek in Franklin County last week.

Construction of the new bridge on SR-243 at Cedar Creek in Franklin County is progressing.

Last week, contractor Miller & Miller poured about 145 cubic yards of concrete to form the bridge deck — the future riding surface — on the single-span replacement bridge.

The northbound detour of US-43 northbound/US-72 eastbound will begin Wednesday, March 18.

Northbound traffic on US-43/US-72 will detour near the Mitchell Boulevard bridge beginning Thursday, March 19.

After rerouting northbound traffic, contractor Miller & Miller can begin demolition of the northbound side of the bridge over SR-20. The $7.2 million project will replace the 88-year-old bridge one half at a time.

ALDOT is closing the Old Brook Trail Bridge over Little Shades Creek on February 18.

The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) will close the Old Brook Trail Bridge over Little Shades Creek in Mountain Brook next week.

Work to replace the bridge begins on Wednesday, February 18, weather permitting, and should last through at least August.
