ALDOT's Guntersville Area paving crew works to repair SR-73 in Jackson County after the road was damaged by a burst water pipe.

ALDOT crews are working this week on SR-73 in Jackson County to repair road damage caused by a burst water pipe.

The burst water pipe under SR-73 near milepost 3, between Higdon and Bryant, washed out the subbase of the highway, according to ALDOT maintenance personnel.

On the official detour, traffic will be rerouted into Tennessee, through South Pittsburg and Sewanee, then back into Alabama.
