ALDOT is wrapping up a two-mile resurfacing job on I-59/20 near Fairfield in Jefferson County.

The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) is finishing its two-mile resurfacing project on a busy stretch of I-59/20.

In February, crews began the job to smooth out the interstate between Fairfield Boulevard and Valley Road.

This was the driving surface condition of I-59/20 near Fairfield in January 2026.

Widening of I-59/20 near Fairfield is scheduled to begin by the end of 2027.

The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) is proposing to widen I-59/20 between Hueytown and Fairfield.

The two-mile job adding a lane in each direction would stretch from Valley Road to Fairfield Boulevard.

The work would also include replacing two bridges at Aaron Aronov Drive and Valley Road.

ALDOT set to close all US-280 lanes at Pump House Road for final bridge girder installation.

ALDOT is planning to replace one mile of concrete of I-459 at the I-65 interchange in Hoover.

ALDOT is proposing concrete replacement on I-459 in the heart of Hoover. The job would stretch from Lorna Road to the western edge of the Little Shades Creek east of I-65.

ALDOT is closing the Old Brook Trail Bridge over Little Shades Creek on February 18.

The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) will close the Old Brook Trail Bridge over Little Shades Creek in Mountain Brook next week.

Two-mile stretch of I-59/20 is being resurfaced between Fairfield and Hueytown.

An Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) resurfacing project to replace an aging section of I-59/20 near Fairfield began Sunday, Feb. 8.

The project will replace two miles of deteriorating asphalt between the Fairfield Boulevard and Valley Road bridges.

The Auburn District is pretreating bridges with potassium acetate, and intersections/steep grades with calcium magnesium acetate and sand/CMA mixture where needed.

They will start with Randolph County and work their way back into South Chambers and Lee Counties as the evening progresses.
