Bridge repair completed; all lanes of I-65 now open

After closing the inside lane of I-65 southbound Saturday night, work proceeded around the clock to complete the repair as quickly as possible.

After working around the clock since Saturday night, contractors completed repairs to the bridge on Upper River Road over I-65 about 14 hours ahead of schedule. All lanes of I-65 are now open.

Expect delays on I-65 during bridge repair

The bridge on Upper River Road over I-65 in Priceville sustained damage when struck by a piece of equipment in April. From 7 p.m. Saturday, June 28, to 6 a.m. Wednesday, July 2, contractors will work around the clock to repair it as quickly as possible, but motorists are advised to expect significant delays on I-65 during the repair.

Drivers should expect significant delays on I-65 in Priceville as crews work to repair a damaged bridge over the course of several days.

Nighttime resurfacing of I-65 in Morgan County to start next week

Contractors will soon begin resurfacing 23.4 miles of I-65 in Cullman, Morgan and Limestone counties.

A project to resurface the entirety of I-65 in Morgan County will begin the evening of Monday, June 16, weather permitting.

The $16.1 million project will resurface from Hurricane Creek, north of Vinemont in Cullman County, to one mile south of the I-565 interchange (Exit 340) in Limestone County.

US-31 lighting work scheduled

The Capt. William J. Hudson (Steamboat Bill) Memorial Bridge on US-31 over the Tennessee River in Decatur.

Norfolk Southern plans to reroute eastbound traffic while repairing this rail crossing on SR-20 just west of SR-67 in Decatur. on Wednesday, April 9.

Bids opened for I-65 resurfacing in Morgan County

I-65 in Morgan County is set to be resurfaced, starting this summer. ALDOT opened bids for the project today.

ALDOT opened bids today for a project to resurface 23.4 miles of I-65, including the entirety of the interstate through Morgan County.

Of three bidders, contractor Rogers Group submitted the apparent low bid of $16,120,000. ALDOT anticipated bids between $14.7 and $17.9 million.
