Five years ago today, ALDOT leaders met with concerned residents from several north Alabama counties to unveil an ambitious plan to repair US-231 after a landslide destroyed parts of the highway in Morgan County.

The SR-127 Elk River bridge, which is just south of the relief bridge to be repaired by ALDOT maintenance forces next week in Limestone County.

Construction continues on US-72/Florence Boulevard in Lauderdale County.

I-59 just south of SR-77 in Gadsden. Work will begin Sunday evening to resurface 8.5 miles of the corridor in Etowah County.

A major resurfacing project on I-59 in the Gadsden area will start the evening of Sunday, Feb. 23, weather permitting. ALDOT advises motorists to expect lane closures from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday through Thursday nights.
