Planned lane closures on US-280

Beginning at 7 p.m. on Sunday, August 3, the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) will close the right lane of US-280 westbound and eastbound in Jefferson County for widening between Shades Creek Parkway and the I-459 interchange.

All travel lanes are expected to re-open at approximately 6 a.m. on Monday, August 4..

These same lane closures will be in place from Monday, August 4, through Friday, August 8.

Motorists are requested to consider using alternate routes, adjust arrival/departure times and observe work zone speed limits.

Motorists should also observe other work zone signs and use extreme caution in this area. ALDOT thanks motorists for their patience during this construction operation to improve Alabama’s roadways.
