Work to resurface SR-24 from SR-67/Beltline Road in Decatur to the Lawrence County line began last week and will continue following the Labor Day holiday.

Resurfacing of SR-24 in Morgan County will resume Tuesday, Sept. 2, following the Labor Day holiday.

The $2.7 million project with Grayson Carter and Son Contracting began last week. The project includes milling and paving 5.5 miles of the divided four-lane highway from SR-67/Beltline Road in Decatur to the Lawrence County line.

Resurfacing of US-72 East in Madison County will begin the evening of Tuesday, Sept. 2.

Rogers Group, the contractor on the $4 million project, will work from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday through Thursday nights.
