The opening of the recently-reconstructed segment of the northbound I-59 roadway included reopening the northbound ramps of Exit 239 at County Road 140.

A four-mile segment of the reconstructed northbound I-59 roadway near the Georgia state line opened to traffic today. The opening marks the halfway point for a $41 million project to reconstruct part of I-59 in DeKalb County.

ALDOT excavated a sinkhole site on US-231 in St Clair County on Monday, November 3, 2025.

The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) has reopened US-231 following extensive work to reinforce its foundation in St. Clair County following ongoing sinkhole impacts.
