ALDOT brings official state Christmas tree from Fitzpatrick, Ala.

Each year, employees from the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) cut down, haul, install and help decorate the official state Christmas tree that sits at the top of the Capitol steps facing Dexter Avenue in Montgomery.

Beginning Monday, Sept. 15, a section of CR-49 in Geneva County will be closed until Friday, Sept. 19.

The contractor for the Alabama Department of Transportation’s Rebuild Alabama project to widen SR-52 will close the section to complete the new CR-49 connector across SR-52.

Travelers should seek alternate routes and plan accordingly for possible delays.

Lane closure on US-84 from US-43 in Grove Hill to CR-39 near Claiborne

The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) is advising motorists of an overnight lane closure on US-84 that will take place Wednesday, September 17th beginning at 8:30 p.m.
