ALDOT ramps up preparation efforts ahead of Winter Storm Cora

In preparation for Winter Storm Cora, the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) is ramping up its preparation efforts in advance of the approaching cold airmass. ALDOT crews began pretreatment on select routes in some areas of the state today and pretreatments will continue and expand across much of the state Wednesday and Thursday.

ALDOT proposes signal for US-72 at Cambridge Lane

SR-20 railroad crossing at Courtland to temporarily close Monday

Norfolk Southern will close the railroad crossing on SR-20 at Courtland in Lawrence County for repairs the morning of Monday, Dec. 9.

The railroad company anticipates the closure beginning between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m. and lasting about one hour.
