Wiregrass Construction will begin paving new right turn lanes on US-72 and Mooresville Road on Monday, March 18, weather permitting. Motorists should expect delays due to outside lane closures at the intersection from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.

The $2.1 million project is funded through the Alabama Transportation Rehabilitation and Improvement Program-II, a program created by the Rebuild Alabama Act to advance projects of local interest on state routes. Local sponsor Limestone County provided matching funds.

The planned intersection improvements include signal upgrades and construction of additional or extended left and right turn lanes.

Later stages of the project will require inside lane closures for construction of left turn lanes, pipe installation, and other median work.

Completion is anticipated this summer.
