Crews resurface the Chalkville Mountain Road southbound ramps off I-59.

Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) crews have reopened the southbound Chalkville Mountain Road (Exit 141) ramps off I-59 in Trussville.

ALDOT has worked to meet a goal to reopen the busy ramps by August 29 and finished three days early.

The contractor for an Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) resurfacing project began installing cable rail and making repairs to damaged guardrail on US-80 in Phenix City today.

Crews will be working on US-80 from US-280 to the Chattahoochee River Bridge. Work is expected to take approximately two to three weeks.

The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) will host a come-and-go style public involvement meeting at the Childersburg Church of Christ to discuss a potential project on SR-235 involving plans for a road diet on approximately 9 miles of the highway.

The Alabama Department of Transportation will have no temporary lane closures on interstate routes during the Labor Day holiday weekend. Closures will be suspended from Friday, August 29, at noon through Monday, Sept. 1, at 11:59 p.m.
